Land Use and the Potential for Regenerative Farming in Stroud District
Join us to hear from Rebecca Charley, Stroud District Council’s Strategic Lead for Nature Recovery and Biodiversity.
With over 20 years of experience, including as a Land Use and Farming Advisor for The National Trust, Rebecca brings a wealth of knowledge from the conservation sector. Rebecca has a history of working with farmers and land managers to implement Environmental Land Management schemes. She now aims to make council-managed land more nature-friendly and is forming a Stroud-based farmer group to promote landscape-scale nature management across the district.
In addition to her role with Stroud District Council, Rebecca is a local farmer. She raises a suckler herd of rare breed Red Poll cattle, which graze on species-rich grasslands full of orchids, knapweed, scabious, and more.
